2.10. Check of level of liquid in automatic transmission

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of the probe of automatic transmission
The probe of automatic transmission is about a partition of a motor compartment in its left part.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Insufficient or excess level of liquid in automatic transmission leads to failure of this unit.
2. Level should be checked after a trip in the usual mode for distance not less than 32 km. Level can also be checked (but less precisely) on a cold box (parking not less than 5 hours, temperature of liquid of 20 °C). After a long trip, or a trip with big loading wait not less than 30 min.
3. Immediately after a trip install the car on the flat horizontal platform, turn on the emergency brake, start the engine and press a brake pedal. Idling transfer the selector lever to all provisions and put in position Park.
4. Get the probe from a transmission branch pipe (engine continues to idle), wipe the probe. Again insert the probe into a branch pipe. Get the probe and check liquid level.
5. Level has to be between two marks (are specified by shooters). If necessary accurately add liquid of the corresponding brand through a probe branch pipe, using a funnel with the filter.

6. Keep in mind that liquid volume between marks about 0,5 l. Therefore add in the small portions.
7. Check a condition of liquid. If liquid of black color, or possesses a "burned" smell, then liquid should be replaced (see subsection 2.30).
