6.6. Fuel pressure regulator


Fuel pressure regulator

The regulator is reported with a cavity of the soaking-up collector through a vacuum hose.

1. Execute a decompression.
2. Disconnect the battery from weight.
3. Disconnect a fuel hose from the regulator and on its place install the manometer.
4. Attach the battery, connect the pump, include ignition and check existence of dribbles of fuel.
5. Attach the vacuum pump to the place of a vacuum hose, turn on the fuel pump. Consider fuel pressure during creation of depression on the regulator and without depression. Pressure of fuel has to decrease in process of depression increase.
6. Attach a vacuum hose, start the engine and consider fuel pressure idling. Disconnect a vacuum hose, – at the same time pressure has to increase sharply.
7. If pressure low, then press the return fuel pipe. If at the same time pressure does not increase, then the fuel pump is faulty or the direct fuel pipe is littered. If pressure sharply increases, then replace pressure regulator.
8. If pressure too high, then stop the engine, disconnect and blow the return fuel pipe. If the return fuel pipe is not littered, then replace pressure regulator.
9. If change of pressure does not correspond described, then check depression on the regulator, having attached the vacuum gage to the place of a vacuum hose (engine has to idle).
10. If depression is, then replace the regulator of pressure. Otherwise believe tightness of a hose and the union on vacuum connection.


1. Execute a decompression and disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Disconnect the return fuel and vacuum hoses from the regulator. Turn off bolts of fastening (arrow) and remove the regulator.
3. Installation is carried out upside-down. Replace ring laying.
